I’m Emma - a qualified lawyer, author and stay at home Mother of four.
Welcome to Words of Emma Heaphy, my website, creative writing outlet and online shop.
In my previous chapter of life as a solicitor I was self-driven. Each day involved a pursuit of career goals, high pressure and stressful scenarios in Court and with clients. That role fostered self doubt on a daily basis. Equally, however, it came with reward, achievement and a sense of fulfillment.
My current chapter of life - motherhood - provides me with a different canvas. It too comes with many of the same challenges and rewards. However, it comes with it one significant difference. I no longer have just myself to think about.
Through this site, my early motherhood poetry books and journals, I share with you my experiences through the early years of motherhood and provide you a space to do the same.
I am so proud of the community that has been created here through the collective understanding that, as mothers, we need to be held too.
